The designs of the 2005 commemorative coins have been minted to mark 60 years since the end of the Second World War. The themes of 'Peace' ($1 coin), 'Coming Home' (20c coin) and 'Remembrance' (50c coin) have significance to all Australians. They capture a range of emotions from the sense of joy of peace, to the poignancy of remembrance. The designers were inspired by images from 1945 and have created timeless reminders for us all.
